July Wrap-Up

I was going to wait and do this with my regular Wednesday post, but doing it that way makes for a really long post. So, I decided to do the wrap-up today instead. Then, I’ll copy my new goals for August for Wednesday’s check-in. But, first to see how the month has gone.

Writing:

  • Heart of Christmas – 10000 words – 10080/10000 words, 165 this week
    • He grabbed the shopping bag out of the front seat and started the trek out to his cottage. He nearly stumbled when he heard Alaina’s laugh again. No. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t go to her. No matter how much he’d like to. He forced his steps to continue across the yard.
  • Still Burning – 10000 words – 10033/10000 words, 341 this week
    • His mother laughed at that. He loved the trill of it. His mom happy had always been one of her favorite things. “Tell me my brother didn’t actually say any of that.”
“Can’t. You taught me never to lie.”
    • If you’re willing to spend $1 a month, I put up a post Monday about this story and the rest of the Hunter Family series on my Patreon. I’ll also be posting excerpts from various WiPs as well as bonus content
  • Whatever It Takes – 10000 words – 10032/10000 words, 329 this week
    • “I came for dinner. And maybe to speak to my brother a few minutes if he’s not too busy in the kitchen. What about you? You’re not afraid Jonas might stop in? You did know he’s home for about another week, didn’t you?”
From the way his face paled, she thought maybe he hadn’t. Maybe he hadn’t known he was home at all.
  • High on Loving You10000 words – 10173/10000 words
  • By the Gun10000 words – 10092/10000 words
  • Side Projects – 10000 words – 11686/10000 words, 1715 this week
    • Patrick & Sarah – 238 words – She grabbed the shawl Patrick had given her just the other day and headed out of the house. This really needed to stop. Thomas needed to start listening to her. Somehow she’d have to find a way to make that happen.
    • Tavin & Haiwee – 181 words – She had to wait another moment for Eydyami to come out as well. Finally he did, and she looked to his face for any sign of what the word would be. She couldn’t read it there, though.
    • Roman – 198 words – Carlos was right about one thing. His job here was done. But, he didn’t want to just leave it at this. He might give it a couple days, he did have other cases he needed to focus on now, but he would make sure Carlos was okay where he was.
    • Dougal & Shae – 248 words – For a moment, he thought about ignoring it. If it was Eliana, she’d probably leave whatever it was on the doormat. And it wasn’t like he needed more food to shove in his refrigerator. He wondered how much Eliana thought one bachelor could eat.
    • Preggers – 136 words – Still, she hadn’t mentioned Marika to Darren’s family yet. She’d only said she was spending time with someone she met the last time she went to meet with her group. It wasn’t exactly a lie, even if it wasn’t quite the whole truth.
    • Hawk – 325 words – “Yeah,” Hawk said. Then, he added, “Fuck.”
    • Sean & Braeden – 177 words – Caelen’s head dropped down, almost in a nod that didn’t finish. “I did. But why would he hire me? He doesn’t even know I’d do a good job.”
    • Jared’s Stepfather – 212 words – His stomach flipped and twisted. David wouldn’t knock, would just barge right in. Which meant it was someone else. Jared just hoped it wasn’t one of his stepfather’s buddies. He didn’t want to deal with any of them right now.

  1. Dang, you nailed it. 😀

  2. […] sunburn, this week has been pretty good. I spent Monday finishing up my July goals(and I posted my July Wrap-up on Tuesday). Tuesday I planned to focus on working on By the Gun for the day. But, the words just […]

  3. Looks like you hit your word targets for all your writing projects this month! That’s awesome!
Do you work on all these projects simultaneously? I have just one project that I’m focusing on now and not sure if I can have more than that on my plate haha…

    Cheers,
    Sophie

    • I do. I’ve tried to work on one thing at a time, and I just…can’t. My brain’s weird. I actually seem to focus better when I have different things to work on.

      • My brain can’t do multiple things at one time, or else it will have trouble keeping track of everything! It’s amazing how differently people’s minds work 🙂
