Home of a mother, wife, writer

Welcome back to another visit with the Weekend Writing Warriors, the blog hop for anyone who likes to write. I’m continuing with Hawk’s story, nearly right after last week’s snippet. I’ll have one more snippet from this scene and I only have one more scene after this, and that one’s not quite finished. Not sure what I’ll do when I catch up to myself, though I do have other projects I could share from. We’ll see. For now, here’s another snippet:

Devil moved over to me, pressing a quick, but hard, kiss to my mouth. “I’m fine,” he said. “Didn’t see anything out of place on my run. How are you, though?”

“Fine,” I said, though I was sure no one in the room believed me. “Really,” I insisted, “I will be once we figure out what we’re going to do.”

He still looked worried about me, though. I hated that. It hadn’t been too long since I’d been the one worried about him, almost constantly, and not just when the Ivory Crows had been coming after him. But, because he’d been running himself right into the ground; all trying to hide who he really was.

They are both fine. Suuuuure, they are. 😉

  1. I like how they’re both so worried about each other.

  2. Lots of tension for both of them but at least they have each other. Enjoyed the snippet…

  3. Funny how “fine” usually means the opposite. Love how sweet they are with each other, for such tough guys.

Nice revealing scene, filled with emotional truths. Well done, Fallon.

  5. Love the relationship here.

Why do we always say we’re fine when we aren’t? Love how they worry about each other. Isn’t that one of the definitions of true love?
