WeWriWa: “Out of My Head”

Welcome back to another visit with the Weekend Writing Warriors, the blog hop for anyone who likes to write. I have more from Hawk’s story here for you. I’ve moved on to Chapter 3. Skipped the first couple paragraphs of the scene, but basically Hawk is laying awake thinking about what life had been like with his father(not good) while Devil sleeps next to him.

A hand slid over my hip and down my thigh. “You could turn the volume down on those thoughts, couldn’t you?”

“Sorry,” I said around a laugh.

He pulled my arm over his side, bringing me onto my own side, so I was spooning against him. He slid my hand up his stomach then finally lifting it away and pressing a kiss to my palm. I knew the laugh had been his plan all along. He seemed to be the one person who knew how to get me out of my head. And I often did the same thing for him.

“Are you still worrying?” he asked as he placed another kiss at my wrist.

Is he still worrying or has Devil succeeded in distracting him? I won’t even ask where you think this is going as it should be rather obvious. 😉
