Silas pulled his glasses off by one ear piece, keeping his gaze on Jeremiah the whole time. Then, he blinked. “Wow,” he said, “you’re…fucking blurry.” And he put his glasses back on. “That’s better.”
Jeremiah laughed. “You’re such a dork, Silas.”
“I’ve never heard a complaint before.” Which wasn’t exactly true. He’d had more than one boyfriend use the term ‘nerd’ as if it was the worst thing in the world. But, he was who he was, and he’d never been ashamed of any of it.
“Didn’t say I was complaining,” Jeremiah said, pushing away the textbook he’d been reading.
Principles of physics, Silas noted. His own focus was toward biophysics, but Jeremiah was more interested in anything that would help in fighting fire. “Having trouble with the material?” he asked.
Jeremiah shook his head. “Just can’t concentrate on it,” he said, standing up and leaning closer to Silas.
Silas looked up, and saw Jeremiah’s eyes were still on him. his lips parted slightly, drawing Jeremiah’s gaze to them. “Think I could help with that?”
“Yeah,” Jeremiah said when his lips were only a fraction away from Silas’. “I think you could.”
“Thank goodness,” Silas said before their lips pressed together.
Today is Day 17 of Just Jot It January and today’s prompt was complaint. And this piece was inspired by this meme/prompt/picture(whatever you want to call it) I found on Pinterest the other day. I don’t think either of these two are complaining right now. 😀
