Welcome to another visit with the Weekend Writing Warriors, the blog hop for anyone who likes to write. I’m still sharing from Dance with the Devil. I believe there were some questions left to be answered after last week’s snippet. And I also may have promised some answers. Here are the next 10 sentences:
“I advised them to keep this from certain hotheaded members until we knew the score,” Hawk said, his eyes right on me.
“You mean me,” I spit out. “I’m the only hotheaded member you wanted to keep this from. What, Hawk? You still don’t trust me?”
“To not go off half-cocked when we need to sit on something? No, I don’t trust you to do that, Damon, because you’ve never been able to.”
Anger flushed through me, I could nearly feel it boiling through my blood. “Who gave you the right to decide what I can and can’t handle, Gavin?” He flinched at the name, probably knowing I used it as a weapon.
How does Hawk know Devil so well. How do they seem to know what will hurt the other so well? And the storm keeps on brewing.
Also, I added Chapter 11 of Into the Sun up on Wattpad, so you can get caught up on that if you like. I have one more chapter to share from that then I can start thinking of posting Come Back Down, once it’s revised(a little more than halfway through my read-through of it right now).

There is clearly a lot of history here, and it sounds like some of it wasn’t too happy.
Definitely a lot. Hawk has always tried to protect Devil, but Devil hasn’t always appreciated some of the ways he’s done that. 🙂
Well Damon does seem rather hot headed here but I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt, since we don’t know all their history! Great snippet.
I like how when the discussion grows hot they use real names — kind of like an angry mother using a full name instead of a nickname.

Yeah, Devil carries a lot of anger with him. Uses it to cover up his fear most of the time.
