Home of a mother, wife, writer

Welcome back to another installment of Weekend Writing Warriors, the blog hop for anyone who likes to write. Today I have more from Come Back Down, following almost right after last week’s. This will likely be the last snippet I share from this one as I started the next story this morning(500 words already!).

“You tell her?”

“Not Barbie, but, I found Bull.” His face fell a little at that, likely thinking we’d been thwarted. “We’ve got an hour before he’ll send them looking for us. That enough time for you?”

His face lit up at that. “Yes, that sounds perfect. Come on.” He tugged on my hand. “Let’s not waste any of it.”

There’s a good reason they don’t want them gone for too long, but I’m keeping quiet on that for now. I can’t really share much more without giving a lot away. Excited to start sharing Devil’s story next week, though.

  1. Great setup for Devil’s story, too!

  2. It sounds like it’s in their best interest to make haste. 🙂

  3. You can do a lot in an hour. Great snippet. 🙂

  4. And just what are they planning to do in that hour? You’ve got me wondering.

  5. I agree with Heather: there are all sorts of mischief you can get up to in an hour. Looking forward to you next snippet about Devil, Fallon.

  6. Can’t wait for the next snippet! Also, woohoo for 500 words so far! Sounds like you’re off to a great start!

  7. Don’t waste a second! Enjoyed the snippet, makes me wonder what’s going on, which is very effective.
