Home of a mother, wife, writer

So, I won NaNoWriMo on Sunday, but I still haven’t finished the story. I thought about taking a break this week, but I just can’t stop writing. So, even though I don’t have the frenzied pace of NaNo to keep me going, I still have my own personal deadline to keep. I want to have the first draft of Guarding the Heart dine by December 23. That way I will not even have to think about it until after the Holidays are over. Right now, I’m still on track to meet that goal.

WIP: wrote 1221 words on Monday and after waking up at 3 a.m. yesterday(early even for me), I added another 1863 words. I slept until 6 this morning though so didn’t have any time to write before the kids got up. Hoping to get some time in once the boy takes his nap. Even if I don’t though, I’m over 2250 words ahead of my cumulative goal right now.

Blogging: got a post up on Monday so after this one, I just need to come up with one for Friday.

Exercise: Still a fail on this one. Haven’t exercised in almost 2 weeks. Really need to get back to it, but just can’t find the motivation for it.

How is everyone else doing with their goals?

  1. Congrats on the win! Finish the race 🙂 You can do it. As for motivation to exercise, it’s hard. But if you don’t make it a must-do, then it won’t happen. “Motivation” is a choice. Either you’re motivated or not. If you’re not, no dice. Grab some music and go workout for a few minutes. It’s easier to keep at it once you’ve started (just like writing). Good luck!

  2. Congratz on winning NaNo!
And yay for wanting to keep writing!

  3. Congratulations on winning! I can’t wait until I get there, and I’m right with you that, even if I make 50k, the story is so not even close to being finished. But there will be a good structure for finishing. I like your plan of getting it done by the 23rd. Smart! Best of luck! You seem to have the drive to get it done, and so you will! And then comes the editing process, right? Never a dull moment for a writer!

  4. Sounds like great progress, and congrats on winning NaNo! I’m so impressed with all of you… you’ve inspired me to give it a go in 2012.

I so got out of the writing rhythm with Thanksgiving and visitors, and I need to find a way to get my groove/muse back.

Best of luck with your goals for December.

  5. Congrats on winning NaNo! That’s a big accomplishment. I could never be that disciplined, lol. Like Tia, I got out of writing rhythm with Thanksgiving, etc. Hoping to get back into it in the next few days.

    Great job and good luck!

  6. Way to go Fallon! Winning NaNo is a crazy big accomplishment. Good for you!
